Polperro

Polperro, on the south coast of Cornwall is one of the most famous and beautiful villages around the Cornish coast. It is an old fishing village, with centuries of history. The old cottage no doubt were originally owned and lived in by many fishermen, only now many are typically holiday homes or cottages to let; as Polperro is a most popular destination, with a well contained harbour and fantastic cliff side views.

Polperro is steeped in history and had for a time been a hub for smugglers shipping in goods for trade during war, to be traded on the black market. Many a Polperro resident became rich on such trade, although dangerous in execution, Polperro served as smugglers port into England.

On our visit we found this quaint fishing village a stunning location and understandably popular amongst locals and tourists alike. There are some wonderful cottages with great views surrounding the cliff side and port.

Polperro is a gorgeous village where one can stay close by, in the many cottages available. Cornwall’s best cottages, some of which are holiday cottages quite near to such a fantastic location.
