Loe Pool

Loe Pool was created when nature produced a bank from shingle which eventually created a dam separating the sea from the lake. Loe Pool is now a natural freshwater lake. Porthleven is the nearest village. Loe Pool is one of the most tranquil and unspoilt locations in Cornwall, it is a massive lake with some great beaches to visit, and nothing much else around.

The shore is approximately six miles, and there are plenty of beaches and points of interest as you walk around the lake. This is one of my favourite places in Cornwall and the peacefulness, solitary calm surrounding the place is very reassuring. Make sure you bring all some warm and waterproof clothing as it does cool off in the evening.

Loe Pool is a wonderful freshwater lake where one can stay close by, in the many cottages available. Cornwall’s finest cottages, some of which are Cornish cottages quite near to such an amazing location.
Cottage owners are very friendly to travellers, who visit these shores, countryside, beaches, monuments and historical sites; many visitors tend to discover so much of Cornwall’s most significant and beautiful locations. There are plenty of cottages to choose from, throughout the whole of Cornwall; making Cornwall an excellent place to embark on a journey of coastal sites, theme parks and other interesting venues. I would suggest that you select a charming cottage, which would enhance the whole family experience of this historical corner of United Kingdom.

When visiting Cornwall, you should venture to the many sites, villages, Cornwall holiday cottages, or stunning countryside. Cornwall is a superb holiday location with sandy beaches, countryside, culture and traditional values. You will, without a doubt, enjoy much of what is available in and around Cornwall, in the calm of a traditional, beautiful cottage; Go to Cornwall Sunshine website and find the ideal cottage for you and your family. Cornwall’s main feature, is that it is home to some great locations that are full of history, mythology and tradition, not to mention the charming small farms, towns and villages. You should cherish the experience of a cottage in Cornwall, many built from local stone, slate and with thatched roofs. These are a simple reminder of Cornwall’s history and a visual guide of how eye-catching it is to be in Cornwall.

There are many myths about Loe Pool, but my favourite is of the legend of King Arthur and where he cast his sword, Excalibur. People believe this is the place where King Arthur cast the sword, because in the readings of Tennyson, he makes reference to the fact that there is a Sea and lake settled side by side.

If you take your family to Cornwall, make sure visit Loe Pool.
